Housing Moves

Housing Moves is a scheme that allows tenants to move outside their existing borough to a different part of London. Housing Moves was established by the Mayor of London and aimed at council and housing association tenants living in London to assist them to move to other parts of London to be near family or to be nearer their place of work. Non-social housing tenants will not be able to participate in the scheme.

Housing Moves works much in the same way as Choice-based Lettings, properties will be advertised from other London boroughs but will be unable to place bids on homes in the borough in which they live. Tenants will need to go online and register www.housingmoves.org. and complete an online form and the information verified.

Bids can be placed through the Housing Moves website, by telephone or by SMS text message. Tenants will be able to place up to four bids at any one time and will be able to change their bids at any time whilst the bid cycle is open. If their bid is successful, they will be invited along to view the property.
